1) Use VPN

VPN or Virtual Proxy Network allows you to connect your device to a secure connection to another network over the internet. VPN gives you to access to blocked websites by hiding your true identity online when you connect to other countries’ servers, making your IP address seem like you are browsing from which country your server is located. You can also download the apps or open the sites blocked in your country.

VPN acts as a tunnel that converts your data into garbage value that’s difficult for anyone to sniff and recognize. There are tons of free/cheap VPN services that one can use and enjoy an uninterrupted internet experience.

2) Use Google Translate

Institutes or even countries sometimes don’t ban Google Translate. So, you can bypass the restriction by converting the blocked website into a different language. Try Google Translate and see for yourself. It is yet another simple way and a coolest tricks to access blocked websites.

3) Use Proxy Websites

This was probably the first trick you knew as a university kid to access all those blocked social networking sites. Proxy websites acts as an intermediary between the blocked site and you.

Essentially what it does is mask from your ISP that you are accessing the blocked site when you are connected to the proxy’s server instead of the website’s server. To get a proxy website for any blocked site, just perform the Google search.

4) Use IP Rather Than URL

The blocked website sometimes are stored as a list of URLs and using IP of the website might work in few of the cases. To get the IP address for any website, you do a ping domain.com command in Command Prompt. Using IP is a simple way to access blocked websites in your region. However, if the website had hidden its IP too, then it won’t open with this method.

All you need to do is run CMD on your computer. Now type “ping www.websitename.com” and press Enter. This will promptly return the IP address. Now enter this IP address in your web browser’s address bar and hit Enter.

5) Bypass Your ISP’s DNS

In Malaysia, our computers generally use the DNS from our ISPs such as 202.188.0.133 and 202.188.1.5 for Streamyx and UniFi. When ISPs use their own DNS, this effectively blocks access to the websites which they wish to restrict.

To circumvent this, you simply need to change the DNS configuration of your network.

How to change your DNS configuration:

• Firstly, go to your computer’s ‘Control Panel’ > ‘Network and Internet’ > ‘Network and Sharing Center’. Then click on ‘Change adapter settings’.

• Click on your ‘Wi-Fi’ In the Wi-Fi status box, click ‘Properties’.
• Scroll down until you see ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’. Click on it.
• Change the DNS Server settings to the numbers shown (Preferred DNS 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS 8.8.4.4).

6) Wayback Machine

Wayback Machine is an interesting service that stores a copy of most of all website on the internet. It saves multiple versions of a website and you can use it to access the past versions of a website. The users can also use it to browse the blocked content online.
